Dinner tonight with eggs, lettuce and milk

Egg fried rice with lettuce and milk custard

Uses eggs, lettuce, milk, rice (staple), oil (staple), garlic (staple), onion (staple), salt (staple), pepper (staple).

  1. Cook one cup of rice in water with a pinch of salt, then spread it on a plate to cool slightly.
  2. Beat four eggs with a splash of milk, salt and pepper. Chop one onion and two garlic cloves, and shred the lettuce.
  3. Fry the onion and garlic in oil for three minutes. Add the rice and stir until hot and lightly crisp.
  4. Push the rice aside, pour in the egg mixture, and stir gently until just set. Then mix it through the rice.
  5. Fold in the shredded lettuce for thirty seconds so it wilts but stays crisp. Season and serve.

Creamy egg and lettuce pasta

Uses eggs, lettuce, milk, pasta, garlic, salt, pepper, oil.

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until tender, then drain.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan and sauté minced garlic for one minute.
  3. Whisk eggs with milk, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Add drained pasta to the garlic oil and toss for one minute.
  5. Pour egg mixture over pasta, remove from heat, stir until creamy, then toss in lettuce.
