You need

To buy

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 to 8 corn or flour tortillas

From your shelf

  • 1 bottle (about 1.25 oz) taco seasoning for ground beef skillet sauce

Staples

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When it shimmers, crumble in 1 lb ground beef and break it into small pieces with a spoon, stirring often until no pink remains, about 6 minutes.
  2. Pour the entire bottle of taco seasoning skillet sauce over the beef and stir to coat everything evenly. Simmer for 2 minutes while the sauce warms through and clings to the meat.
  3. Taste and season with a pinch of salt and pepper if needed. Warm 6 to 8 tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side while the meat rests.

Note Swap ground turkey or pork if you like. Leftovers keep in the fridge for three days and reheat well in a skillet. Serve with shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, or whatever you have on hand to dress your tacos.
