Warmed BBQ wings with coleslaw

Tyson's fully cooked wings need only heating and a bed to land on. Shred a quick slaw of whatever vegetable keeps longest on the shelf, toss it with a vinegar dressing, and dinner is ready in twenty minutes. The contrast of cool crisp slaw against warm sticky wings makes this feel like more than it is.

Serves 2. 20 minutes, 12 at the stove.

You need

To buy

  • 1 small head or 3 medium cabbage or carrots

From your shelf

  • 1 package Tyson fully cooked BBQ glazed bone-in chicken wing sections, jumbo

Staples

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil

  1. While the oven preheats to 375°F (190°C), shred 2 cups of cabbage or carrots into a bowl using a box grater or knife, or buy it pre-shredded.
  2. Toss the shredded vegetable with 2 tablespoons of oil, 1 teaspoon of vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; taste and adjust. Set aside.
  3. Spread the wings in a single layer on a sheet pan and heat until warmed through and the glaze is tacky, about 12 minutes.
  4. Divide the slaw between two bowls and set a portion of wings on top or beside it.

Note Swap the slaw for any green salad, rice, or potatoes. Leftovers keep three days covered in the fridge and reheat well. Serve with ranch dressing on the side or eat as is.
