Crescent rolls with ham and cheese

Crescent rolls wrapped around ham and cheese make a savory hand pie that comes together in minutes. This shelf gives you the pastry already laminated and ready to bake, so you just fill and fold. Warm, flaky, and substantial enough to call dinner.

You need

To buy

  • 4 oz [115 g] sliced ham
  • 2 oz [60 g] cheddar cheese slices

From your shelf

  • 1 package (8 rolls) flaky & buttery flavored crescent rolls

Staples

  • pinch salt
  • pinch pepper

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F [190°C].
  2. Separate the crescent roll dough into 8 triangles along the perforations. On each triangle, lay a small piece of ham and a small piece of cheese torn from a slice, then roll up tightly from the wide end toward the point and place point-down on an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake until the rolls are deep golden, 12 to 15 minutes.
  4. Let rest 2 minutes before serving, while you pour water or set the table.

Note Swap ham for pepperoni or any sliced deli meat. Leftovers keep wrapped at room temperature for one day and reheat well in a warm oven. Serve with a side salad or pickles to round out the meal.
