You need

From your shelf

  • 1 box original flavor macaroni and cheese dinner (Kraft)

Staples

  • for pasta water salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the macaroni from the box. Cook until tender, about 7 minutes, then drain in a colander.
  2. Return the drained pasta to the warm pot and add 2 tablespoons butter and 1/4 cup milk. Stir in the cheese sauce packet until fully combined and the sauce coats every piece.

Note Stir in a splash more milk if the sauce thickens on standing. Leftovers keep covered in the fridge for three days and reheat gently over low heat with a tablespoon of milk. Serve with steamed broccoli or a green salad on the side.
