Sausage and cheese scramble supper

This shelf holds a ready-to-cook scramble blend: liquid eggs with fully cooked sausage crumbles and cheddar cheese all in one container. It's faster than breaking eggs and browning meat, which means dinner in fifteen minutes from stovetop to plate.

Serves 2. 15 minutes, 12 at the stove.

About 140 calories a serving, 3 g protein, 1 g carbohydrate, 14 g fat. From USDA figures for 67% of the ingredients; amounts are the recipe's.

You need

To buy

  • for serving bread or toast

From your shelf

  • one container sausage and cheddar cheese scramble blend

Staples

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it foams. Pour the entire contents of the scramble container into the pan and stir gently every 20 seconds.
  2. Continue stirring until the eggs are set but still slightly creamy and the sausage is heated through, about 3 more minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Divide between two plates and serve with buttered toast or bread.

Note Swap toast for potatoes or rice if you have them. Leftovers keep refrigerated for two days and reheat gently in a skillet. Serve with fresh fruit or a simple salad to round the meal.
