You need

To buy

  • 8 ounces ground beef

From your shelf

  • 1 kit Old El Paso mini flour tortilla bowl Mexican dinner kit

Staples

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 medium onion
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Mince 2 garlic cloves and finely chop 1/4 onion. Add them to the hot oil and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  2. Add 8 ounces ground beef, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon as it browns. Cook until no pink remains, 4 to 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. While the beef cooks, follow the kit instructions to bake or fry the tortilla bowls.
  3. Drain any excess fat from the beef. Stir in the taco sauce from the kit and let it warm through, about 1 minute.
  4. Divide the seasoned beef between the two tortilla bowls. Top with any accompaniments you have on hand: shredded cheese, lettuce, or sour cream.

Note Swap ground turkey or chicken for beef. Leftovers keep in the fridge for two days in a covered container; reheat the beef gently and serve in fresh tortillas the next night. Serve with lime wedges, hot sauce, or a cold drink on the side.
